C'est un aspect souvent méconnu de l'angleterre : tous les anglais ont du sang français dans leur veine et des millions d'entre eux descendent directement d'un anglo-normand ou d'un français. En effet plus de 300 000 normands et français d'autres région se sont installés entre l'an 1066 et le 13ième siecle en angleterre petit pays de moins de 4 millions d'habitant à l'époque.
Cela ne se voit pas parce que la plupart des noms ont été anglicisé. Par exemple Bon coeur s'est transformé en Bunker. De plus les milieux de recherche en histoire et en étymologie sont malheureusement dominés depuis au moins deux siècles par les partisants du pan germanisme appelé anglicistes qui priviligient systématiquement les origines anglo-saxonne et viking du peuple anglais
